What is an agrivoltaic financial model?
An agrivoltaic financial model is an Excel-based model used to evaluate the investment case of an agrivoltaic project, including PV revenues, agricultural structure, CAPEX, OPEX, debt, IRR, NPV, DSCR and payback.
Is this model for elevated agrivoltaic projects?
Yes. The model is designed for elevated utility-scale agrivoltaic projects, where PV modules are installed on higher structures to allow agricultural activity underneath.
How does the model treat agricultural income?
The model includes three agricultural modes: Zero transfer to the farmer, Land Lease with fixed rent, and Direct Revenue from crop activity. This avoids assuming that the developer always receives crop revenues.
Can I model the impact of shading and GCR?
Yes. The model includes a GCR-based producibility mode using Ground Coverage Ratio and structure height to estimate the shading effect on generation.
Can I use a site-specific P50 yield?
Yes. For more advanced analysis, you can enter a site-specific P50 yield in MWh/MWp from an energy study.
Does the model include battery storage?
Yes. The model includes an optional co-located BESS module with dedicated CAPEX, OPEX, arbitrage and ancillary revenue assumptions.
Which markets are included?
The model includes Italy, Spain, UK, Germany, USA, France, Australia and Nordic markets.
